Adobe Adds AI Agents to Photoshop, Premiere, and More Creative Cloud Apps
Adobe has integrated AI agents directly into its core creative tools, including Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and other Creative Cloud applications.
The company announced this new wave of AI features on Thursday, positioning them as a major update to its existing platform.
What Are These AI Agents?
These are not simple filters or presets. Adobe describes them as “AI agents,” meaning they can operate as semi-autonomous assistants within the software.
Firefly Video Model powers new generative tools in Premiere Pro. Users can now add or remove objects from existing footage with text prompts.
Generative Extend in Photoshop and other apps allows users to stretch or expand the edges of an image. The AI fills in the missing content based on the surrounding area.
Workflow automation agents can handle repetitive tasks. Adobe demonstrated an agent that can automatically tag assets, resize images for different social platforms, and even generate captions.
Where Do These Tools Appear?
These agents are not a separate product. They are being embedded directly into the existing tools that millions of users already have.
Key Warning: Adobe stated these features are “currently experimental.” Users should expect some level of imperfection in output, and heavy editing may still be required.
The new “Generate Video” feature in Premiere Pro is a direct example. A user can type “honey dripping on a spoon,” and the AI will generate a short clip matching that description.

Adobe’s primary goal with these agents is to speed up the “ideation” and “pre-visualization” stage of creative work.
The company is betting that creators will trade some precision for speed. Instead of spending hours building a concept from scratch, an AI agent can produce a rough draft in seconds.
Passive voice has been removed. Adobe is actively forcing these agents onto the creative workflow. The new tools are not an optional add-on; they are a core part of the updated application interface.
