Evaluating Anti-Facial Recognition

Tuta (one of our Supporter) brought an interesting article about Facial recognition:

if you’re interested in a deeper dive into this, one of my close mates at “UofC”

As always, there’s a lot of fake advice out there: use fake hair, makeup, wear a t-shirt. In 2025, I can tell you this doesn’t work anymore. In the early 2000s, yes, but today, no way

Jokes aside, I wouldn’t upload your own picture. It can be tempting if you’re missing someone, but consider this: while AI can generate an image, if you upload your own photo (or, as a ‘bad person,’ your friends’), there’s a risk. You don’t know who’s truly behind that site, and by uploading, ‘they have it.’ This could mean another successful ‘donator’ to their database. Remember how there’s a service like ‘Have I Been Pwned?’ where you can check if your email and password have been exposed in a hack? It’s a similar principle for your image data.
