After an intense week of internal testing, we are ready to open the gates to our community. If you are a developer, an AI enthusiast, or someone who fiercely values digital privacy, this release is built for you.
Why AI Agent Armee? Breaking Free from Closed Ecosystems
Recently, tools like Claude Code have hit the market. While they are undoubtedly cool, they come with a massive catch: they are closed-source, heavily restricted, unable to build in parallel, and lock you exclusively into cloud-hosted models. You never truly know what is happening behind the scenes, or where your proprietary code is traveling.
Gnoppix AI Agent Armee is our answer with OpenCode.
We believe you should have total control over your development environment. In combination with our core Gnoppix privacy and security tools, we strongly believe that AI specifically local AI is an incredible force for good when implemented correctly.
The Reality of Digital Sovereignty: Ultimately, data privacy is a personal decision. However, we refuse to voluntarily hand our data over to corporate providers whose entire business models rely on harvesting and processing as much information as possible from every corner of the web.
If you’ve ever run models like DeepSeek V4, Qwen 3.6, or Gemma 4 locally on your machine, you already know how powerful open-source AI has become. Your private data, source code, and intellectual property stay entirely on your local hardware. No corporate cloud black boxes required. That said, we leave the ultimate hosting choice up to each individual user.

A Realistic Look: We Need the Community
Let’s be completely transparent: we are currently a small, lean team of just 5 people. Building a massive framework like this takes time, and the road to a polished, final release could still be a long one.

Our goal is to keep the final product entirely free. If enough passionate people join the cause whether as testers, documentation writers, or core developers we can accelerate this timeline and deliver a powerhouse of an operating system to the world.

For your initial testing, no complex installation is required (though standard installation is recommended for maximum AI performance). It is incredibly lightweight and fast.
