We’ve just rolled out an update packed with new features, crucial fixes, and a major rebranding for our AI tool. Gnoppix Gaming enhanced, now optimised by default.
The Big Change: Farewell, Copilot!
The Playground AI launcher (formerly known as Copilot) has been renamed to avoid confusion with existing tools. This rename applies to the launcher interface and all related components.
Compliance and Access Update: Due to impending EU regulations (including the EU AI Act, Liability Software Directives, and DSA Act), geo-blocking has been implemented for all EU and UK residents. Users must now confirm they are not residents of the EU or UK and are at least 18 years old to comply with US law regarding the possibility of generating AI adult content.

Playground AI Improvements
- Public Sharing Toggle: You can now quickly enable or disable public sharing for your notes directly from the settings interface. (Playground AI→Note Settings)
- Permission Warnings: Administrators will now see a warning when editing users if conflicting group permissions are detected, helping to resolve access control issues immediately.
- Launcher Fixes: A critical regression affecting External Tool servers (OpenAPI) and a major bug in Streamable HTTP OAuth 2.1 integrations have been resolved.
Gnoppix Gaming & Desktop
- Optimized Gaming Out-of-the-Box: Gnoppix now includes optimized games settings and performance tuning in the base distribution. No more installing and patching happy gaming on Linux!
- Desktop Information: We’ve added Wayland-tools to help you get more information from your desktop session.
- Ongoing Redesign: The Gnoppix Welcome screen is undergoing a complete redesign for better usability and functionality.
