Service Announcement: Upgrading & Isolating Our Post-Quantum Mail Infrastructure
Due to the overwhelming popularity and rapid growth of our encrypted email service (gnoppix.me), we are upgrading our infrastructure to deliver greater security, stability, and performance.
What Is Changing?
We are migrating the gnoppix.me webmail client onto its own dedicated, isolated server.
By decoupling webmail from our core infrastructure, we achieve strong architectural isolation:
-
Enhanced PHP / App Security: In the event of an application-layer vulnerability or PHP issue within the webmail frontend, all other services, infrastructure components, and backends remain completely isolated and secure.
-
Service Resilience: Heavy traffic or maintenance on secondary services will no longer impact webmail performance, and vice versa.
Scheduled Maintenance Window
To complete the server migration and DNS propagation smoothly, we have scheduled a maintenance window:
-
Start Time: October 26, 2026 at 01:00 AM UTC
-
End Time: October 27, 2026 at 00:59 AM UTC
-
Expected Impact: Intermittent service disruptions or brief connectivity drops to the webmail interface during this 24-hour period.
Note: Incoming email routing (MX) and background delivery mechanisms will continue processing queued mail, though frontend webmail access may experience temporary downtime while IP transitions occur.
Thank you for your continued trust and support as we continue strengthening the infrastructure!
